Active Paddock Collserola

About us

The amount of time a horse spends on the move is a determining factor in its health and longevity.

Imagine the physical, emotional and psychological benefits your horse would gain if it could spend as much time as possible in the wild, living together in a herd, eating all day, learning to regulate itself.

Every day.

This is what I imagined for Unique.

A place where he could be active, where he could walk, graze and socialise with other horses. This is how the idea was born.
After years of searching for the right land, the opportunity arose.

And so the project began: the refurbishment of a traditional equestrian centre in what is now our little equine paradise.

I'm Laura, co-founder of Paddock Activo Collserola.

Horses have been my passion since I was a child. I was lucky enough to have my first horse when I was 11 years old and that was the beginning of my life around them. Thanks to Único, my current horse, and because of his problems, I opened my mind to see what they really need.

Throughout these years I have been training and learning in different areas related to equine biomechanics, podiatry, ethology, nutrition, natural horsemanship, and others. I am an Instructor of centred riding, Instructor of the Franklin Equestrian Method and I am the first certified level 4 Instructor in Spain of Train Your Seat. I am currently continuing my training as I believe that life is an eternal learning process and in order to be able to relate better with these wonderful animals we must also do a great job on a personal level.

Together with Fran, my partner and colleague, I started Paddock Activo Collserola, my dream, where we try to know and learn more about them.

Paddock Activo Collserola is our centre, where we aim to integrate horses into nature and improve their well-being.

Welfare and freedom for your horse in a natural and stimulating environment.

A active paddock is a space designed to allow horses to enjoy freedom within a controlled environment. Unlike traditional stables, where horses often spend long periods of time in confinement, the active paddocks allow horses to be in a large area, with the possibility to move around, interact with other horses and participate in natural activities.

The paddock is carefully designed with elements that stimulate the movement and social behaviour of the horses, as well as offering shaded areas, FRESH WATER and quality food.
